Finding out if a website has Nofollow
I often see people asking around : ‘How do i find out if a website is Dofollow?’
For those that don’t even know what Dofollow means , it is a HTML code that allows search engines to crawl other urls.
E.G: Mr.X wants to put link A on website B . If B has a Nofollow tag, the site will not be able to crawl A thus no link juice will be passed and this url will not do anything to rank higher in the serps.
Nofollow is often checked for these purposes:
Link exchanges
Blog commenting
Buying and selling links.
To spot a Nofollow tag , just use these simple procedures:
1. Download Firefox if you don’t already have it.
2.Go on the page you want to know if it will pass link juice.
3.Right click anywhere on the site that isn’t a link.
4. Select Source Code of the Page.
5. Press Control+F then type Nofollow.
If there is a Nofollow tag , you will see in the window source code . If not , your search box that appears with CTRL+F will be red.
